Their leader Tuvia focuses on taking in Jews and supporting them. In the end they were able to save the lives of more than 1000 Jews in Poland. In the text it statests that Tuvia has a caring characteristic.

Tuvia has a caring nature based on text in the book Defiance. In the beginning people in his camp argued if taking in Jews man or woman, young or old was a good idea. He then explained that is was better to save lives of Jews than kill Nazis and be no better than them. He then gives equal treatment in terms of food and kindness. This is how he cares for both him and his people.

This story relates to what is happening in the world today. Anti semitism today is like in the past. During the 1940`s their was vandalism, name calling and bullying. The same is today but with different people and different meathods. This is how the story is the same with what is happening today.
